About
The Play
Reading Network
The Play Reading Network is a theatre organization focused on giving playwrights an opportunity to workshop new works through readings. With the current state of the world and more specifically the theatre industry, it is more difficult now than ever before to have new work produced. By creating a platform focused on newer works, The Play Reading Network gives playwrights, performers, and directors an outlet to do what they do best...create and tell compelling stories from all different cultures and backgrounds.

Founding Creative Director
Matt Acquard (He/Him/His)

Matt Acquard is a Baltimore/DC and Tampa based artist. After graduating from Towson University with a BFA in Acting, he continued his training as an Acting/Production Apprentice at American Stage in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he had many opportunities both on and off stage. One of his favorite opportunities during his apprenticeship was getting to be a part of the selection committee for American Stage's Annual 21st Century Voices New Play Festival, which he is still a member of. It was through his involvement that he gained a love and appreciation for new works. He has a passion for performing and education, and always has his eyes out to support new works in any way he can.
